Frequently asked questions
What does it mean for a lure to be handmade?
It means production and quality control take place in small batches. It does not mean variation is acceptable: two units of the same model must retain the same action, rigging and standard of finish.
Why do you explain the materials and components?
Because every component should serve a clear purpose. Each available product page will state the components, their function and the relevant specifications.
What is the difference between available, in development and archive?
Available: a validated product with a real price and stock. In development: a design still being tested that can change. Development archive: an earlier prototype retained as part of the project’s history; it does not represent the current product.
Do you make lures to order or in custom colours?
At the beginning, I will work with fixed configurations and colourways. This helps maintain quality and repeatability. Any future option will be clearly announced on the product page.
How should I care for a lure after saltwater fishing?
Rinse it with fresh water, dry it before storing it, and inspect the hooks and split rings. Normal fishing marks do not necessarily affect performance, but stop using a lure if it shows structural damage.
When will an out-of-stock model be restocked?
The shop shows real stock only. Restocks will be made in small batches and communicated without artificial urgency. Check the product page or get in touch for availability.
How much does shipping cost?
The cost is calculated from the destination and order format, and is shown before checkout.
How can I contact VDM?
Use the shop’s contact page. Product, availability and order enquiries are answered personally.
